What is non-nano hydroxyapatite?

We use natural, bovine derived non-nano hydroxyapatite instead of the commonly used nano hydroxyapatite which is synthetic.

Non-nano hydroxyapatite is a form of hydroxyapatite with larger particle sizes compared to its nano-sized counterpart. Hydroxyapatite is a naturally occurring mineral form of calcium apatite, and it's a key component of bone and teeth. Non-nano hydroxyapatite helps to remineralise enamel by providing the calcium and phosphate needed to rebuild tooth structure. It can repair early signs of tooth decay and fill in microscopic cracks and gaps. Non-nano hydroxyapatite's larger particle size is more akin to the natural size of minerals in bone and teeth. This can enhance the natural integration and remineralisation processes. Biocompatibility and Safety: Non-nano hydroxyapatite is considered very biocompatible and safe for use in various applications such as dental care products and bone grafts. Its larger particle size is less likely to penetrate cell membranes or cause unintended cellular interactions. On the other hand, nano hydroxyapatite has smaller particles that can penetrate more deeply into tissues or cellular structures. This also raises concerns about potential long-term safety and toxicity. Non-nano hydroxyapatite's larger particles can help in the gradual release of calcium and phosphate ions, supporting remineralisation. Non-nano hydroxyapatite is less likely to cause issues related to particle toxicity or unwanted cellular interactions, making it a safer choice for general use, especially in products that will be in regular contact with sensitive tissues like those in the mouth.

The power of our key ingredients

Non-nano hydroxyapatite: This is our main remineralising ingredient and we use this as a natural alternative to fluoride to strengthen and maintain tooth enamel. All our products are fluoride free. Calcium Carbonate: Acts as a mild abrasive that helps remove plaque, food particles, and stains from the surface of teeth. It’s effective at polishing the teeth without being too harsh. It is also a source of calcium to help remineralise tooth enamel. Calcium carbonate helps to neutralise acids in the mouth, which helps to protect enamel from acid erosion. Kawakawa & Manuka Leaf: These native ingredients have been used traditionally for oral health care. Best know for their anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, these plants boost the healing properties of our toothpaste and putty. Castor Oil: As well as having antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, castor oil has also been shown to have anti-fungal properties and may be beneficial for dental health. Alfalfa & Horsetail: These herbs contain minerals that help support healthy teeth and gums. Theobromine: This is added to our tooth putty as it has been shown to boost remineralisation.

All of our toothpaste formulas contain 10% non-nano hydroxyapatite. Our leave in tooth putty contains 20% non-nano hydroxyapatite to boost the enamel building properties. NO FLUORIDE NO SLS NO PARABENS

Delivery: You can purchase items online, and we will send them via NZ Post courier to the address you provide at checkout. Most urban deliveries in New Zealand will take 1-3 days, while rural deliveries may take up to a week. We currently do not have an integrated tracking system. If you would like a tracking number, please email us at stellanaturalsnz@gmail.com, and we will send it to you. Due to the natural nature of our products, we cannot accept returns or offer refunds based on flavour or texture preferences, as our products may differ from mainstream alternatives. Each batch is handmade so there could be slight differences in consistency between batches. Video Demo - How To Use Tooth Putty

Scoop out a small amount of the putty and roll it into a ball, adjusting the size based on the number of teeth you are treating. Allow your body heat to soften the putty until it reaches a glue-like consistency. Apply the putty directly to the affected tooth or teeth, ensuring to dry off the tooth beforehand for better adhesion. For optimal results, it is recommended to apply the putty daily just before bedtime and then brush your teeth as usual in the morning.
